Couples Weekend Intensive

For couples looking to deepen their relationship, improve connection and communication, support each other’s nervous systems, and come from a place of supporting each other’s pasts.

We invite you to our home in Golden, CO for a two day immersion into deep exploration of your relationship with yourselves and with each other from a relational and experiential perspective. This will include nature, land, and equine-based work.

Our purpose is to work with you in an undomesticated, out-of-the-box setting to allow you to find fresh ways to connect with your partner/spouse. We invite all couples, conventional or unconventional, into this process with us.

Please note, we are not doing weekly marital counseling, nor if we do an intensive with you, will we continue to see you individually. You may book more weekend intensives. We take few couples per year due to our schedule and an application is required.

Meet Your Therapists

Hi, I’m Duey.

Duey is a sought after teacher, trainer, licensed therapist, and equine professional worldwide. He has traveled to teach professionally in over 8 countries, has developed a practical attachment theory and human development theory that is taught to thousands of university students, is approaching 80,000 direct client hours, and co-founded both the Gestalt Equine Institute and the Gestalt Institute of the Rockies. He supervises therapists and graduate students, does business and land consultations for new equine therapy sites, and models being a life-long student to your passions.

Gestalt and Relational Horsemanship are not just approaches to Duey; they are how he walks through the world. He embodies both tenderness and strength in all his relations and work. His quality of contact and relationship with others is authentic and unique, and he has many people coming from around the country and world to study with him. He has worked incredibly hard to master his arts and finds great joy in teaching ‘honest students.’

Hi, I’m Kimberly.

After 20 years of work in animal welfare, environmental rights, and nature education, Kimberly was called to step into the field of psychotherapy to more deeply address the disconnection at the root of her activism. Trusting in the power of the human/nature relationship and the wisdom of the body to heal fractured attachments internally and externally, Kimberly now guides clients and students to connect with their intuitive, animal selves and their local landscapes. She has facilitated nature-based therapy for 14 years and has been a nature guide for 28 years. Kimberly is owner and operator of Colorado Ecotherapy Institute and Relational Rewilding Nature Guiding where she blends gestalt, ecology, herbalism, animal tracking and somatic intelligence into her work. Kimberly teaches nature approaches to therapy for the Gestalt Equine Institute of the Rockies and The Golden Wellness Center. She is an instructor for Denver Botanic Gardens and Audubon Society of Greater Denver and is a student in The Embodied Present Process program.
